KOSMO

Digital discussions are an important instrument for the joint development of ideas and places for the exchange of political opinions. At the moment, considerable human resources are needed to moderate and evaluate the many contributions. Therefore, the aim of our research project KOSMO is to develop a prototype of an AI-supported assistance system. It should proactively support moderators and organizers in ensuring the quality of discussions and the synthesis of online contributions.

The prototype, which will be published under open source license, is intended to support moderators in identifying problematic and less argumentative contributions. This reduces the effort and simplifies replying to contributions. On the other hand, it should also motivate participants to not only be passive observers, but to summarize contributions by gamification. The prototype will be tested by different target groups during the project.

With KOSMO we aim to improve the quality of digital discussions and thus make them more attractive and accessible for moderators and participants.

KOSMO is a research project (support code 01IS19040A) within the framework of "KMU-innovativ" and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
