Webinar invitation

Digital participation formats offer a wide range of opportunities to actively involve citizens in decision-making processes. But when does digital participation really promote democracy? And what pitfalls should be avoided? On October 30, we will reflect together in our webinar on the democratic potential and challenges of digital citizen participation. Participation is free of charge and open to all interested parties.

Digital participation formats offer a wide range of opportunities to actively involve citizens in decision-making processes. But when does digital participation truly promote democracy? And what pitfalls should be avoided?

In this interactive webinar, we will reflect together on the democratic potential and challenges of digital citizen participation. Using concrete practical examples, we will explore the role that democratic principles and goals can play in digital participation practices. In small groups, we will then test how these principles and goals can be used as benchmarks for participation projects and learn about possible conflicts of interest.

What you will take away:

Clarity about the democratic goals of digital participation

An evaluation scheme for the democratic quality of participation projects

An exchange of experiences with colleagues from the field of participation

Sensitivity to potential conflicts of interest

Who is the webinar for?

For anyone who implements digital participation projects or would like to do so in the future – whether in administration, at service providers, or in civil society.
